Frequently Asked Questions
Are you a repair company?
No, Kaua'i Infrared only provides inspection services. We do not make any repairs. Because of that, you can be comfortable that we're not going to try and sell you any unnecessary repairs. How you use the information we provide is entirely up to you!
How long does the inspection take?
The answer to this depends very much on the service and the inspection location. The typical residence here on Kaua'i takes between one and three hours to conduct the inspection. That is only the beginning though! The next step is to return to our office and analyze the images we took to prepare a written report. The report indicates our findings, along with the pictures which we base those findings on.
Commercial inspections vary dramatically. It all depends on the work to be done, distance between sites, and accessibility to locations. Things like roof inspections go quickly, while electrical panels can take longer. These jobs are usually done on a quote basis.
Is thermal imaging invasive?
Not at all. Thermal imaging is no more invasive than taking a picture of something. Aside from getting access and a clear view of the areas we're inspecting, we don't require any invasive contact with your property.
Is thermal imaging expensive?
Our inspections can help you detect potentially costly issues before they turn into large problems. For example, if you are buying a house here on Kaua'i, our services can help find water intrusion and mold growing in the wall before you make your purchase. In that case, the money saved because of thermal inspection would be invaluable.
Similarly, for commercial properties such as a resort or store, our inspections can help detect potential problems early, before they become costly problems. With early detection, you can avoid expensive unexpected downtime, keeping your business running smoothly.
I have an idea on how I can use thermal imaging that's not listed on your site. Are you flexible?
Yes! Thermal imaging has a wide variety of applications, many of which aren't listed on our site. If you have an idea, please contact us, and we'll be happy to discuss it!
Are you local?
Yes! Our office is located in Kalaheo, and we service the entire island. All of our inspectors are full time residents of the island, and are familiar with the intricacies of inspecting in our unique environment here on Kaua'i.
